Dr. Omar Abu-Bakr
Dr. Omar AbouBakr is a consultant in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and Reproductive Medicine with more than 15 years of professional experience.
He graduated from the faculty of medicine Cairo University in 2007 with Very good grading with honours.
He then commenced his career as a house officer, then as a resident of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2009 at AlKasr AlAiny Hospitals.
He later on obtained his Masters degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2013 with a very good grading.
His thesis focused on the relation between the fatal free cell DNA levels and preeclampsia.
Directly after his masters, he started a career in Sheffield Teaching University Hospitals in the United Kingdom.
In 2015, he became a member of the prestigious Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists after showing the needed experience and passing the needed exams.
Subsequently, he started a new job in Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, where he specialised in laparoscopy and hysteroscopy.
After returning to Egypt, he began a job as an associate researcher specialising in reproductive medicine in the National Research Centre in Cairo, where he is currently located.
Throughout his career, he gained a high experience in the management of obstetrics, gynaecological and reproductive medicine disorders including different assisted reproductive techniques as In utero insemination (IUI), In vitro fertilisation (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and minimally invasive techniques including laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures.
Currently, aside from his work in the National Research Centre, he has joined Riyadh fertility centre as a consultant.
