What is IVF?

What are the reasons for IVF?

There are some reasons why we resort to IVF, including:

• The presence of cervical problems in the wife hinders the arrival of sperm inside the uterus.
• Reverse ejaculation is when sperm is ejaculated during intercourse towards the bladder and not inside the vagina.
• Erectile dysfunction in men.
• Moderate sperm count deficiency but the operation is not suitable in case of severe shortage (cases where the sperm count is less than 5 million).
• Moderate impairment in sperm motility but does not work in cases of lack of forward sperm movement.
• Delayed childbearing is unexplained.

Is there some advice after IVF?

Some tips are given after the operation, including:

• Lying on the back for a while immediately after the operation, not more than an hour.
• Stay away from caffeine and alcohol.
• Practice intimacy on the same day as IVF.
• Stay away from stress and anxiety and avoid nervous and psychological stress.
• Drink plenty of water, which renews blood circulation and rids the body of toxins.
• Make sure to take all medicines and vitamins while following the instructions of the doctor of the Riyadh Fertility Center.
• Follow a healthy and proper diet such as (proteins – vegetables – fruits).
• Psychological support from family and friends.
