Delayed childbearing is a problem that worries most couples, especially after more than a year has passed without childbearing, so most of the reasons are directed towards the wife, where most of the tests are conducted, and we are completely ignorant of the analysis of the husband’s semen.
It is an analysis that shows the health status of sperm in terms of (movement, number, and shape i.e. free of abnormalities).
The analysis is performed by the husband or man in specialized andrology laboratories under the medical supervision of the highest level of andrologists at the Riyadh Fertility Center.
There is advice before performing a semen analysis, including the following:
After obtaining the semen sample, the doctor places it in a sterile and airtight container for examination in the specialized androgenization laboratory at the Riyadh Fertility Center.
The results of the semen analysis appear on the same day and show the following:
70% of sperm must be single-shaped, and symmetrical (one oval head and one long, mobile tail).
We can say that the sperm in a semen sample is moving properly when 60% of the total sperm in the sample is moving.
The number of sperm in a semen sample should not be less than 15 million, where the normal sperm count ranges from 15 million to more than 200 million sperm per milliliter of semen.
At the Riyadh Fertility Center, semen analysis is performed, because it is one of the most important initial procedures that must be started when treating cases of delayed childbearing, as the husband represents 40% of the causes of delayed childbearing compared to the reasons for the wife.
