IVF Process Steps

IVF goes through five steps at Riyadh Fertility Center as follows:

Oocyte monitoring and activation

After examining the wife and conducting medical examinations, with reassurance on the ovarian stock and the level of hormones, accordingly, the process of stimulating ovulation begins and follows up to obtain the mature egg suitable for IVF.

Oocyte retrieval

After 34-48 hours of egg maturation, the gynecologist and delayed childbearing doctor draw the eggs through a laparoscope.

Or using ultrasound to complete the extraction process, and finally, the eggs are placed in the dedicated laboratory.

Semen sample before IVF

The andrologist at Riyadh Fertility Center takes a semen sample of the husband and examines it in the laboratory to collect good and healthy sperm and separate them from bad sperm.

Taking into account that sometimes the andrologist needs to take a semen sample through a surgical microscope, in case of any problem that hinders its exit by natural methods.

Oocyte fertilization with sperm

The doctors of the fertility laboratories at the Riyadh Fertility Center mix the sperm with the mature egg extracted from the wife.

The doctor places them in suitable environmental conditions for a period of hours, to allow the fertilization process with examination and confirmation of the fertilization process.

On the other hand, if the doctor finds it difficult in the process of insemination, he injects sperm directly into the egg, and here this process is called ICSI.

Embryo transfer

The fertilized eggs are placed in the nursery and left for 3-4 days, and then the doctor selects the successfully fertilized eggs to return one or more in the wife’s uterus to complete the pregnancy.
